It was the bottom of the ninth inning and we were winning 5-4 in the championship game. I was the pitcher and my heart was racing. There were two outs and the count was full and the batter up was the best in the league. I took one deep breathe, winded up and when I was just about to release the ball a real live fish came out of no were and hit me on the head. The fans all took a deep breath as I dropped to the ground. After laying there for about 20 seconds my coach came out to the mound to check up on me and see if I was alright. I finally got up and looked around; everyone was staring at me like I was an alien from another planet. I looked down to my left and there was a gigantic real live fish just laying there on the ground, I thought to myself “That was probably what hit me on the head.” I looked up in the sky and all of a sudden millions of fish came falling from the sky!
We all started screaming and running to the nearest coverage. I quickly hustled to my dugout where there was coverage. Everyone was huddled under the dugout and the only thing you could hear was the noise of the humongous fish that were smashing against the top of the dugout. Eventually the fish started coming thru the dugout roof so we all ran to our cars and started driving away. Luckily no fish have hit me yet except for the one that hit me in the head when I was pitching which made the headache start kicking in right about now. As my parents and I started to drive away I kept hearing the fish smash against the roof of my car which made enormous dents in the car. As we were driving down the streets everyone was running and screaming for coverage. When we got home well all rushed into the house and went directly to the basement which was probably the safest spot to be in the house. As we stayed down there for about an hour we could still hear the fish hitting against the house.
After about an hour and a half the noise of the fish hitting against the house stopped. We all got up and went up the stairs of the basement leading to the 1st floor of our house. We went to the front door of our house, looked thru the window and saw no fish what so ever. I built up the courage to open the door after a couple of minutes, so I opened it and slowly creped to the lawn looking around for fish. There were only fish on the ground but no more falling. Everyone came out of their houses and celebrated this moment after what had happened. After about a couple of days that it took to clean up all the fish off the ground we continued our championship game awhile after the event had happened. So it was the bottom of the ninth, 2 outs, we were winning 5-4 and the count was full. I took one more final deep breath and winded up for the pitch. He swung and missed! We won the championship and the croud went wild. My team came piling on me on the mound, raised me up above their shoulders and started to chant my name. Ever since that day I have never forgot it and I never will.
